Research about the company 

Recruiters know that you are quite serious about the company as you have made it to the interview. It is important to do some research on the company prior to the interview. 

During the pre-interview research, try asking yourself thoughtful questions about the company. That would help you face the interview. For start-ups, try finding out who invested in the company and how much they’ve raised so far.

Practice mock interviews


Facing mock interviews provides you the opportunity to test your interview skills. If you don’t know how to answer certain questions, the mock gives you a great opportunity to test your answers.

This will boost up your confidence. Generally, people who conduct mock interviews easily point strengths and weaknesses. You will perform better in an actual interview once you’ve aced a few mocks.

Probe the position

You should have a thorough understanding of the role you are applying for. Job advertisements can sometimes be misleading. Things written on paper can be different from what you will be asked to do on the job.

Map out your route to the location of the drive one day before the interview. Make sure you arrive at least 15 minutes early. Being late to an interview is extremely unprofessional.

If you are taking public transport, plan a backup plan in case of closures or delays.

Do not forget to send a thank-you note after the interview. If you are interviewed in the morning, follow up the same day. If you are interviewed in the afternoon, following up by the next morning should be fine.

Write distinct emails for each interviewer. Try and mention the topics you had a conversation about during the interview.
